Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance

Which political forces are most effective in a globalized world? How can current social and political problems be solved? At the annual Bucerius Summer School on Governance, these and many other questions surrounding the opportunities and risks of globalization are discussed by an international collection of emerging and accomplished professionals active in the areas of politics, business, media and non-governmental organizations.

The ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS has been organizing this high profile program featuring prominent experts since 2001. Held in Berlin and Hamburg, the 10-day event fosters the growth of talented young leaders and contributes to the forging of a global network. With speakers such as Wolfgang Schmidt, Head of the Federal Chancellery, then Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, former French President Valery d'Estaing and outstanding experts from the fields of business and science, the program offers a unique level of insight and exchange. Supervising the panels are individuals such as journalist Georg Mascolo, head of the investigative research network involving the Süddeutsche Zeitung, NDR and WDR, and Eberhard Sandschneider, partner at Berlin Global Advisors.

The Summer School – as the name suggests – is held annually each summer. The next edition is scheduled for August 2024. Further information on planned topics and the application process is available at: www.bucerius-summer-school.de.

The ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS encourages public debate on issues of current importance and creates forums for the discussion of controversial political and social topics. With the Bucerius Summer School, it also supports international exchange in the field of global governance.
